Arriving by train intro

There are 26 platforms at Leipzig’s Central Station, which is located in the city centre. There are four exits: one on the east (left) and west (right) ends and two at the front. Lockers are located next to the tracks on the far left. An ATM can be found in the front entrance hall on the ground floor on the right. There are also ticket machines in this area for local and regional transportation as well as the Deutsche Bahn ticket office. A ReiseBank money exchange office is located in the Promenaden shopping area of the train station below the main level (open Mon-Fri 9:00-22:00, Sat 9:30-20:00 and Sun 13:00-18:00, holidays 10:00-15:00).

Trams and taxis are located directly in front of the train station on Willy-Brandt-Platz. Tram tickets can be bought at a ticket machine in the entrance hall of the train station or on the tram platforms (single ticket €1.70). To get to the Leipzig Tourist Service office, cross Willy-Brandt-Platz and turn left. The tourist office is at Richard-Wagner-Straße 1 (open Mon-Fri 10:00-18:00, Sat-Sun 9:00-16:00, holidays 10:00-16:00.
