Russische Gedächtniskirche [Russian Memorial Church]

The numbers are staggering: over 50,000 Allied soldiers perished in the five-day Battle of Nations against Napoleon’s forces in 1813. Among them were 22,000 Russians. The Church of St. Alexij was built 100 years later as a living monument to their sacrifices. Inside, a seven-row iconostasis containing 87 icons and a bronze chandelier dominate the upper floor.

Open 10:00-13:15, 14:00-17:00.
