To the southwest of Leipzig on the far side of Grünau, Lake Kulkwitz attracts water sport fans from around Europe. Although waterskiing, wakeboarding and canoeing are quite popular, the crystal-clear lake is a particular hit with divers, who can use three points for filling air bottles and changing clothes. A holiday resort located on the east side of the lake rents out Scandinavian-style holiday homes (up to five people starting at €59 per night) and flats (€38-€48 per night). But if you’re the type to find comfort with the creatures instead, you can pitch a tent for around €7 per night. No matter what you decide, advanced reservations are strongly advisable.
