Bayerischer Bahnhof
The oldest terminus station in the world (1844) has become one of the city’s trademarks and a popular attraction. In its heyday, one million passengers a year began their journeys to Bavaria, Austria and Italy at this “Gate to the South”.

Memorial of the Great Community Synagogue
In 1855, the Great Community Synagogue was built for Leipzig’s thriving Jewish community. In 1938, the Nazis destroyed the synagogue as part of their efforts to dispel the Jews.
