The Kulkwitzer Lake is a favourite summer destination on the western edge of Leipzig. Originally a brown coal strip mine, it was later flooded and the area renatured. At 150 hectares large and 36 metres deep, there’s plenty of room for sunning, swimming, boating, diving, sailing and skiing.
