Tax free shopping intro

If you have a non-EU passport, you can reclaim the VAT from purchases in Germany at the airport.
When shopping, look for the Tax free for tourists sticker, and ask for the VAT return form when paying (bring your passport).
If you’ve packed your refund items in your suitcases, you’ll be directed to bring them to the customs office on the same level in Terminal 2. After going through the paperwork, they’ll send your bags off to the plane and you can claim your refund at the Global Refund desk around the corner. If you have VAT refund items in your carry-on luggage, ask for directions to the customs area on level 05. A Global Refund office is there as well. Everything is taken care of in arrival area C in Terminal 1.
