"Munich doesn't have to be expensive" declares a sign at the entrance to this traditional beer house, which pledges to fill you up for no more than €6.95. True to word, not even the succulent roast ox or a quarter of a fattened duck with potato dumplings will cost you a single cent more. Choose whether you wish to sit with the Japanese-dominated tourists on the ground floor or the locals and businessmen above, but don't miss the merry accordion player at the back of the restaurant where both floors meet under a pyramid-like glass roof. No wonder it's almost as famous as the Hofbräuhaus.
