Paulaner was also founded by monks and is most famous for Weissbier and Salvator stark beer. Their logo is a head of a monk, commemorating the beer’s origins in the Neudeck monastery in 1629. It was privatised 200 years later and is now the largest and one of the most modern breweries in Bavaria.
