The oldest church in Nuremberg dates back to around 1215. It's current form dates from a little later (about 1230) with very additions made over the years. Like most of the city, the church was seriously damaged during WWII and much of what you see today is contemporary, dating from around 1957. Of particular interest are the carvings and sculptures on the northeastern buttresses. The church is named after the city's saint, Sebald, who died in 1070 and who is buried inside the building in a silver Sark.
