The theme here is, you guessed it, ancient Greece and the restaurant tries to transport you, gastronomically and atmospherically, to the time of Pericles. To begin with, the menu itself is based on original sources citing recipes that were actually in use in ancient Greece. Indeed, beside every dish on the menu there’s the corresponding text of the ancient recipe. Now, as for the food itself, there is a good selection of imaginative and quite fruity salads, many meat dishes and a lovely stuffed cuttlefish, to name a few – oh yes and naturally there are no potatoes or tomatoes to speak of–these after all were first discovered in the Americas many centuries later. If you are dining among a large group of friends, it is a good idea to ask beforehand for the special wild boar (served whole) plus, as a special treatment, you can pre-book ancient Greek togas. Oh, and lest we forget – definitely accompany your meal with a carafe of “oinomelo” (wine deliciously blended with honey).
