Mani is the rocky area in the south of the Peloponnese, and many of its local dishes are served in this superb modern restaurant, housed in the first floor of a neoclassical building a few steps away from the new Acropolis museum. If you are looking for real, non -touristy Greek food at surprisingly low prices, this is your first choice.

We decided to allot one dinner to try "authentic Greek food" during our 2 1/2 day visit in Athens this month(we hopped to the islands after) and decided on ManiMani based on the previous recommendations here. We went with the house salad which was great. I tried the moussaka while my girlfriend tried a chef-special (cream-sauced?) pasta with chicken which she is still salivating about.Best of all, ManiMani is only 4 minutes away from the Acropolis Metro Station, but just out of the way so that it is not packed - a relaxing, cozy ambiance to enjoy a homey meal at reasonable prices - exactly what a visitor need after a day running around visiting ruins. Thank you ManiMani!

I completely agree with the comments made. We found this restaurant last year and were very impressed. The location is somewhat surprising as the street looks more like a commercial area but maybe now the new Acropolis museum is open it will benefit from that. We loved the food with a modern twist, great to find original ideas. The staff were very welcoming. We look forward to going back there this May for another memorable meal or two.

I have frequented Athens at least 3 time a year for the past 25 years or so. On one of my trips 2 years ago, my wife and I happened upon the ManaMani restaurant which was only 100 meters from our Hotel. We were pleasantly surprised by the lack of tourists and the quality of both the food and the service. I have since returned there on many of my visits with both locals and tourists in tow and each time I continue to be surprised by the new menu prepared by the chef. The salads are truly amazing.
