Sorry, but this place is about as Irish as a green polo shirt with an emblazoned logo. Longford is a perfectly acceptable spot for a quiet pint after a day's retail therapy (or trauma) on Vaci utca. Every day except Monday a live band mixes up traditional Irish tunes with both types of music - country and western!

Absolutely awful place. I went in to have a drink and enquire about a rugby match showing live on Sky as advertised on their board outside.I was made to feel like I was interupting the staff from doing nothing and was told I could not sit at the bar. If I wanted to stay there I had to sit at a table where a waitress would take my order.Had one very expensive drink (when compared average prices in Budapest) and left, never to return. Most Irish bars have a decent atmosphere but this place was just terrible. I ended up watching the game in Becketts. My recommendation, avoid the Longford. - 12

along with a few friends we went to longfords to have lunch and watch the football over a few beers, boy did we get screwed, they cheat you blind,we ran a tab and and i think we paid the staff wages for the day.it is about as irish as the north pole, the staff serve you eventually and their manner is at best surly, they change the menu while you order and most of all they cheat you when it comes time to pick up the tag. this is without doubt the worst bar in a city that is a must to see, please believe me and stay away from these rip off merchants. davy campbell scotland
