European Union (EU) citizens arriving from within the EU need valid official identification - a valid passport is recommended and in some cases a visa is necessary. Travellers arriving from outside the EU need a valid passport; again a visa may be necessary. Always check with your local Irish consular authority in your home country for visa regulations for those planning to work while in Ireland. Visitors may be asked to prove they have a return or onward ticket and sufficient funds to take care of their needs while in Ireland.
