3 Crown Alley
This has been a favourite spot for college folk since it opened, but it recently received a facelift and it seems it's grown up with its patrons.

Against The Grain
Against The Grain by name, against the grain by nature. This cosy gastro-pub is ideal if you're looking for a night out with a difference.

Ideally located just off Grafton St. this is a popular resting spot for shoppers, and pint lovers too. Tastefully designed with comfortable leather couches and trendy décor it’s a classy, but not exclusive joint.

Bank on College Green
Facing the Bank of Ireland and a tome's throw from Trinity College, this beautifully restored Victorian building is instantly recognisable as a former bank, and all the prettier for it.

Bleeding Horse
Rumour has it that this was the location of a knackery many years ago, hence the name. It’s a cosy Dublin pub with inviting

Button Factory
Recently redone and all the better for it, The Button Factory (formerly known as the Temple Bar Music Centre) now boasts a nicer layout, décor and, most importantly, sound system.

Dakota
This place is classy - tasteful leather furniture, very, very good looking clientele, and cool music. It’s a pity that some of the prices are needlessly steep, but it’s definitely a cool place.

Dawson Lounge
Dublin’s full of ‘super-pubs’, places so big you might get lost going to the loo. But if you’re looking for something different this is the spot.

Garage Bar
If you like the simple life it doesn't get better than this. There's nothing fancy about this bar but that's the great thing about it.

Gin Palace
Unpretentious, if hardly fancy, Gin Palace is a nice place to kick off a night or for a quiet pint. The crowd is a little older than your average city centre drinker, though they can be equally boisterous if they’re at the start of a night out.

Globe
Housed in the same building as RiRa nightclub, the Globe just about straddles the line between cool and too cool. A big favourite in Dublin, especially among musicians and music fans, it boasts good tunes and a cosy atmosphere.

Hairy Lemon
This is a well established Dublin spot and is a big hit with both tourists and locals. It gets pretty crowded at weekends and is a big hit with sports fans.

Harbour Master
Not dissimilar to an American colonial building, The Harbour Master has promptly established itself as a popular fixture for Dublin’s drinkers.

Market Bar
This is a super trendy, but not super pretentious spot with a difference. The building was once a loading bay and it's maintained a very minimalist approach to décor.

Morrison
With an interior design by John Rocha, the Morrison Hotel is predictably plush. Nothing to do with the Doors, you understand, the hotel contains an exclusive, classy bar and pricey restaurant (which has received mixed reviews).

Porterhouse North
Each of the Dublin Porterhouses has a personality consistent with its location- the Temple Bar one (incidentally the best) is bustling and multicultural, the one off Grafton St.

Porterhouse Temple Bar
This is the best of three branches of The Porterhouse in Dublin. Temple Bar can be a bit touristy and full-on for some tastes, but we like this microbrewery and restaurant.

Pygmalion
We didn't quite know where to put this listing. This is the chameleon of bars in Dublin. By day it's a trendy cafe bar where you can chill out with a coffee and the papers.

Red Cow Inn
Plush leather furniture, polished wood panelling and an open fireplace is not what one would expect in a cocktail bar next to a nightclub, but as part of a respected hotel, it fits in nicely.

Ron Blacks
Dawson Street is known for its classy pubs and restaurants (not to mention one of the best bookshops in the city). Only a handful of pubs in Dublin have queues outside their doors, and most of them are on Dawson St.
