The green carpet is firmly in place for the mother of all national holidays. Street entertainment, tours, treasure hunts, Irish dancing and Sir James Galway and the RTE National Symphony in Concert are among the events enveloping the city over these four fun-filled days. The Sat 17 March St. Patrick’s Day Parade has adopted Dublin's City of Science 2012 as its theme. So grab a space and watch marching bands and super-sized marionettes leave Parnell Square at 12:00 and snake along O'Connell Street and Dame Street before arriving just past Saint Patrick's Cathedral.
