Blarney Castle

Pucker up to the Stone of Eloquence and, legend has it, you'll never again be lost for words. The world famous Blarney Stone is reputed to be one half of Scotland's Stone of Scone, given to Castle owner Cormac McCarthy by Robert the Bruce as thanks for supplying troops at the Battle of Bannockburn. The Castle Keep dates back to 1446, and the term to talk 'Blarney' eminates from Queen Elizabeth I, somewhat irritated by the Earl of Leicester's long-winded excuses at failing to capture the Castle. Spend time exploring the Castle and House's enchanting grounds, garden, lake and many other mystical nooks. The estate lies 8km north-west of Cork.

Adult €10, Conc. €8, 8-14 €3.50, 2+2 €23.50.
