Run by a local charity which ploughs its profits into the well-being of the region’s less privileged children and orphans, this extraordinary place right next to the ski run has several restaurants and a hotel. The small restaurant at the front of the building is the more rustic and features a nice pot-bellied stove in the middle of the room. Hot food is cooked in both a traditional wood-fired oven (try their truly delicious
pide) and on a rotating stick, the latter providing excellent value and much talked about doner kebabs. Also not to be missed is their fresh fruit juice, made from local blueberries. No alcohol is served on the premises. The rooms feature amazing carved wooden beds. There’s also a large garden out the back, an extremely popular place during the summer. The owners claim that the air here has extraordinary healing properties, even going to far as to state that three weeks here will completely rejuvenate and cleanse the body.
7 rooms (doubles €15).
