Prizren's first Muslim prayer place, in the park directly opposite the bus station, was built during the invasion of Prizren in 1455 and was meant as a place of prayer for the Ottoman Army. Also known under its Turkish name,
Namazxhah, the simple roofless structure consists of a raised stone floor and a minaret without stairs. Falling into disrepair and surrounded by new buildings up to the 1960s, it was reconstructed in 1999 by the Institution for the Protection of Monuments with donations from Turkish institutions.
