The first proper mosque building in Prizren was constructed in 1513 by Suzi Çelebi, a well-known Prizren poet who wrote popular books about the various Ottoman military campaigns he joined. Çelebi lies buried in the mausoleum beside the mosque, together with his brother. The elegant roof and porch reveal an interior with wood carvings featuring a rose decorating the ceiling. The gardens also have a half-ruined old library building.
