It's hard to tell whether this restaurant is meant to have a Latvian or a medieval theme, or perhaps both, but in any event, it scores high marks for its excellent menu of traditional food like pork ribs and sour kraut served in huge portions as well as its incredibly cheap breakfast offers. Ba [...]

Located at the beginning of the Liepāja beach park, this restaurant offers an extensive menu of European and international dishes and a great summer terrace not far from the sea. Like every other square meter of this enormous hotel, the Royal Kitchen is completely over the top with regal decorations. Although its menu offers pretty much a little of everything including Latvian food and children's favourites, it prides itself on its delicious steaks that are cooked just right. All main courses include a fantastic salad bar which makes the cost of an 8Ls t-bone much more palatable. Big bottles of Staropramen are also on offer for a mere 1.50Ls.

One of Liepāja’s best hotels also offers one of the city’s better dining establishments. All of the international fusion cuisine is worth a try, but we recommend the rare tuna steak with wasabi mashed potatoes. If after looking at the floor you think you’ve had too much w [...]

Medus, or honey in Latvian, has a helter-skelter interior of steel columns, bizarre lamps above the bar that look like showerheads and a wall completely made of firewood that encloses the toilet. Bread and honey precede all of the international dishes served here and a kids’ menu is also [...]

The Amrita hotel restaurant offers fine dining for people looking for an alternative to the food served at Liepāja’s many cheap buffets and bistros. That said, in addition to international and Scandinavian dishes like pytt i panna (chopped sausages, potatoes, egg and beets), moose fillet and salmon, local Latvian cuisine is also on offer. A business lunch can also be had for as little as 3.50Ls. [...]

This charming fieldstone building on the side of the road on the way to Liepāja houses an odd restaurant. The international and local food is quite good, the Tērvetes on draught is excellent and even the wine list is impressive, but the staff dressed in white shirts and black ties and the general décor seem out of place in a Latvian country tavern.
