The Lido Recreation Centre not only offers a huge outdoor skating rink, but also great Latvian food and beer as well as attractions for the kids. You can also rent 'penguins' for the kids so they won't fall down on the ice as much. Take bus N°12 from the train station directly or trams N°7 or 9 from Aspazijas to the LIDO stop and walk in the direction of the windmill.
