As a regular reader of the In Your Pocket guides, I'm sorry to say that this review has gone disastrously wrong and makes me wonder just how objective these reviews really are. 1739 is simply the worst tourist rip-off restaurant I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. The waitresses were not particularly congenial and were dressed in attire more suitable for one of the seedy strip joints in town than for a supposedly nice restaurant. The food was abysmal and over-priced. On a visit to the toilet one has the misfortune of actually getting a look at the kitchen which looked far from clean and was frankly chaotic.I cannot stress how disappointing this place was and the looks on the faces of the other guests there suggests we were not alone.Avoid at all costs.David Walsh
