Hotel Irina

Located just across the street from the train station, one of Hotel Irina’s most obvious advantages is its close proximity to Old Riga. Although each of its many rooms is slightly different in size, most offer red carpeting and yellow walls as well as cable TV, mini-bar, phone, internet access and private bathrooms with showers and hairdryers. The suite boasts a sauna, hot tub and a bidet in the bathroom, but the interior of the room is unusual to say the least. To avoid tobacco smells request a non-smoking room.

WORST HOTEL EVER!I would not stay here again if it was for free. Dirty, filthy. Staff are extremely RUDE and unhelpful. We actually left and checked into a different hotel it was that bad. Weird security guy who sleeps in the lobby, looks you up and down and growls at you, even went as far as to ASSAULT one of our party. Hotel receptionist was a witness but claims she saw nothing. Breakfast was a big bowl of cornflakes left out from 9 o'clock the previous night. Rooms tiny and dirty, noisy, not cleaned. Lift always out of order. You would be mad to stay here.

Unfortunately the Irina hotel gets a bit less worth the money every time I visit (I stay there several times a year). This time (oct08) the cleaning was not up to par, hardly seen a smile there amongst the staff. The beds are way too old, you feel the springs. Now they have even started charging for keeping your luggage the day on departure! I will start looking for another hotel for my next stay.
