Riverside Hotel

Completely built from the ground up in 2008, the Riverside may not be the most centrally located of Riga hotels, but it does offer plenty of privacy, friendly staff and a guarded parking lot for free right within the city. All rooms are similarly decorated with reddish carpets, beige walls and brown bedding. Flat screen cable TV, free wireless internet access, private bathrooms with showers, phone, safe and climate control all come standard. A sauna, Jacuzzi and restaurant are also available in the cellar.

We stayed in Riverside Hotel end August for 5 days following the recommendations on tripadvisor and hrs. The staff was always very friendly and helpful, the rooms and beds ok (nothing fancy, but ok) , the bathroom with tiles to the ceiling tidy and clean - what else to expect for 22LVL we paid for a double with (latvian style) breakfast. The hotel is close to bus stop (multiple buses going to the centre) and tram (no.7). Takes approx 5-7 Min to the centre. Try to find out where the different buses/trams go - this saves you some walking. We took most tram #7 to the national opera right at the east wing of the OldTown. Must see in Riga is surely Alberta Street with the Art Nouveau Museum. At the other end (from Museum) on Alberta Street there is a restaurant Metropolitan which offer buffet (small plate 1,90 - large 2,80 LVL- you can fit on as much you want). We had a large together and it was enough. Has also outside seating but is busy at lunch break. Best Money Exchange we found was TAVEX opposite to National Opera. There also the "big" changer of cash go for change. Still ATM for my kind of credit card (DKB Bank) was slightly better.
