Every time we’re in the coastal Latvian town of Liepāja we always look forward to a visit to Ginger, which is in our opinion one of the best Asian restaurants in the entire nation. Unfortunately, its second location in Riga is only a shadow of the original. The spring rolls appeared to be the kind that you find in the frozen section of a local supermarket, the Chinese main courses had been microwaved into rubbery slop and when we found a white worm on what was supposed to be a duck fillet they only offered us a discount on the evening’s meal. Shameful.
