Being foodies ourselves, we were naturally intrigued by this stylish, yet casual restaurant on the edge of Old Riga. The interior is modern enough to satisfy the sensibilities of the trendy with its funky lamps and purple upholstery, yet its use of wood and comfortable couches and stools lends it a cosy pub feel. Although it specialises in a wide variety of wines not previously seen in the Latvian market, it also has an international menu that’s surprisingly affordable. Steaks, grilled tuna, homemade pasta and even fried scallops can be had for a price that won’t send your accountant into a panic. You can also order breakfast until 13:00 and Warsteiner and Leffe Blond brews are available on draught.
