Melnie Mūki

Melnie Mūki
Housed in the brick-walled remnants of a medieval cloister, the Black Monks is a favourite of the most particular and frugal gourmets in town. The one-time personal chef to the previous president has not only created an amazing menu of dishes from across the globe, he also explains the history of his best recipes and where he acquired them. Reservations essential.

still one of the best culinary experiences in Riga but the scope of the once mighty menu has been rather dramatically downsized.

Service and the food were excellent, which the international clientele sitting next to us also seemed to enjoy... Pleasant ambiance, delicious dishes, polite waitstaff, in a word, a great place to spend the evening (if, of course, you have some extra cash in your pocket that you are willing to spend there) :-)
