Legend has it that a medieval warrior named Kristaps travelled all over the continent and even the Holy Land returning to Riga with trophies and riches, not to mention recipes, which are now used in this restaurant, his former house. This modern fable serves as the backdrop for this huge monument to kitsch offering king-sized portions of Latvian, Russian, European and Caucasian cuisine. Patrons can also watch sports on the big screen TV in the ‘medieval’ cellar or smoke a hookah in the ‘middle east’ room. Order the trout and you can watch them catch it in the pond downstairs.

    I´ve been in this restaurant about 10 times, havind lounch or dinner, sometimes only snacks or salad - I´ve been satisfied every times. Allways visiting Riga I visit this restaurant. It´s me favoujrite in Riga :D

    I have been to this place 3 times now on 2 visits to Riga. I totally recommend this place to everyone. On both occasions that I picked the trout I was given a net to catch it myself. Totally fantastic atmosphere, very friendly staff and most importantly amazing food. One of my most favored restaurant on the planet.
