Fresh flowers, huge samovars and boisterous Slavic patrons and wait staff make for an interesting dining experience on Old Riga’s main pedestrian street. Although caviar will cost you dearly and the grilled sturgeon is by no means cheap, you don’t have to be a Russian oil tycoon to order traditional dishes like pelmeni and vareniki. Ukrainian Obolon beer is on draught, but for sheer authenticity we recommend the homemade horseradish vodka.
