Multicultural Centre [Daugiakultūrinis Centras]

Multicultural Centre
Housed inside the town’s former 19th-century Small Synagogue, Kėdainiai’s Multicultural Centre hosts temporary exhibitions from around the world in the first-floor space where four pillars mark the place where the bimah once stood. Upstairs in the former women’s section is a tiny exhibition dedicated to Jewish life in the town including several religious items, a metal fireman’s helmet and an alarm clock made by the local Jewish firm, D Ronder. The centre also holds concerts and is the cultural nucleus of Kėdainiai’s remaining Russian and Polish minorities. The square outside was the traditional trading place of the local Jewish community. Its emptiness serves as a chilling reminder of what happened here less than 70 years ago.

Entrance adults 4Lt, children 2Lt.
