Sightseeing
As well as offering visitors the rare opportunity of simply experiencing a more or less typical small Lithuanian town, Birštonas also provides a few cultural treats. Unmissable is the Birštonas Museum, which although it overlooks one or two hugely important moments in history is still more than worth a peep inside, although it does need to be visited with the help of a translator to get the full effect of the town’s intriguing story. Don’t miss the other treats in store, and do try to spend a little time enjoying the pleasures afforded by the Nemunas, either by strolling alongside it or in the nearby Nemunas Loop Regional Park. The following provides more than enough to keep visitors busy for a while. More information is available at the Tourist Information Centre in town.
