Church of Saint Anthony from Padova

Birutės 14     more than a year ago
The first church believed to have stood on this spot dates from 1529, the year the town received Magdeburg Rights, although the current structure is considerably newer. Completed in 1909, the Neo-Gothic Church of Saint Anthony from Padova is your classic small town red-brick house of worship. If you’re lucky enough to find the doors open, inside are a few points of interest including a rather lovely tiled mosaic floor and the painting Saint Judas Tadas by the artist Nikodemas Silvanavičius (1834–1919).
