Arrival & Transport
Despite Kaunas’ position in the centre of the country and its former role as the country’s capital city, facilities awaiting fresh arrivals are almost entirely geared towards the local community, with little in the way of modern, helpful or efficient services. Much improved airport terminal facilities have helped enormously, but for everybody else arriving in Kaunas can be hard work to say the least. Getting around the city is relatively simple once you’ve grasped the basics, with a large choice of public transport options running throughout the day and affordable taxis operating around the clock.
