Although many consider this recommended place to drink beer in a restaurant, once again the meal we ate here was anything but great. Essentially a microbrewery on two floors of which the cellar is by far the better of the two spaces, Avilys makes two different beers, the light Avilio and the fabulous Medaus flavoured with honey, both of which are well worth sampling. Visitors who find themselves in need of food should steer well clear of anything ambitious-sounding on the menu and stick to the beer snacks. If they splashed out and got somebody who knew what they were doing working in the kitchen this place would be truly spectacular. As it is, it’s little more than a bar with waiters.
