Occupying what was part of the city’s Architects House, La Bodega del Toro had to be viewed through the window when we visited it was so packed inside. Sprawling out across the cobbled street, this place, during the summer at least, is definitely one of the best locations for drinking wine in Kaunas. The décor has a rare-for-Lithuania thrown together feel about it although it was clearly thrown together by somebody who knew what they were doing, and the clientele seem to be not the usual crowd of country bumpkins who’ve recently discovered there’s more to life than drinking moonshine in a bus stop. Top marks.
