Supposedly taking its name from the poem The World Is Blue As An Orange by the French Surrealist poet Paul Éluard, this place has been around forever and long may it continue to be open. Your classic art student pub complete with broken furniture, everything about the place is alternative in the best sense of the word. The music is challenging, the beer is stupidly cheap and features a wide range of excellent ales from small breweries alongside the usual giants. They even make a decent range of food. If you need somewhere different to sit quietly and read a book (or take advantage of the free internet), come in the daytime. If you want to be squashed and make new friends, don't miss Friday or Saturday nights.

Nice little bar. Nice pint and nice snacks. One of Kaunas' better places.
I am currently a masters student living in Kaunas and my apartment is around the corner from B.O. Its patrons are primarily student aged folk with the occasional German tourists finding there way in. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly. Good music (mostly alt. and indie rock) accompanies a decent collection of bar fare and beer snacks and the people are nothing but inviting. The B.O. has become an extension to our family room here and will remain a go-to bar for the next two years. Side note: there is free WiFi internet and the house beer is also the cheapest we have come across in the area.
