Decent quality, unpretentious national food in moderate fairytale surroundings up on the hill way out of the city centre, the Forto Dvaras chain is hugely popular with the locals and for good reason. Although you may not be able to come up with a good excuse for fleeing to the suburbs for a bit of nosh, if you do find yourself in the vicinity it’s worth popping in for a dose of calories. The menu runs the gamut of traditional Lithuanian food and is very good indeed if you happen to like that sort of thing. Also at Savanorių 346 (Savas).
