Home to arguably the country’s best jazz festival, by far the best photography festival in the Baltics and a once thriving centre of burlesque and Jewish theatre between the wars, Kaunas never was and never will be short of culture. As well as contemporary art, theatre and music, the city is also active in the sphere of national folk culture, providing plenty of opportunities for visitors to both watch events as well as to get involved directly.
