Established in 1958 around the same time that scores of similar theatres were opening behind the Iron Curtain, Kaunas’ fine Puppet Theatre puts on several different performances a year for the benefit of local children in a small and large auditorium inside the building. The theatre also puts on performances for adults and houses a small museum, although sadly both the museum and the theatre itself are generally closed during the day.
