It took almost forever for a proper hostel to open in Lithuania’s second city but the wait seems to have been worth it. Run by a friendly local on-hand around the clock to help with just about anything, the Monk’s Bunk comes with a welcoming range of bunk beds, a common room, kitchen, wireless internet, free towels and even free walking tours of the city. Geared towards the classic modern hostel community, potential guests over 40 will be screened before booking. Likewise, stag parties will be turned away from the door.

  I stayed there for one night and the place was clean the staff friendly and it is located in the old town very central to many places of good athmosphere. Really very good.

  Reply to Justin I am sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay here but i can't agree with your comment. If you would check our reviews on hostelbookers.com or hostelworld.com you would see that most of the people highlight our friendly staff. Ass well most people say that we can help with any question you have. And we do have maps usefull flyers hostel discount cards and so on ) And apparently we are the best rated hostel in Kaunas!

  Good point really clean and well located. Bad unfriendly staff surly greeting at door no maps useful fliers or local information that one can usually get at a hostel. Had to wait in line with 4 people for shower and hostel wasn't even full.You can do better elsewhere.
