Man [Žmogus]

Man
Unveiled in 1991 and the work of the Lithuanian sculptor Petras Mazūras (b. 1949), this peculiar-looking naked fellow is supposed to symbolise the beauty of man’s soul and body as well as to welcome all with open arms to the museum he guards. During its, ahem, erection, the sculpture allegedly outraged the crane driver helping put him in place to such an extent that he walked off the job.
