Lithuanian Aviation Museum [Lietuvos Aviacijos Muziejus]

Lithuanian Aviation Museum
A fairly substantial collection of memorabilia and some actual aircraft including a home-built helicopter, a Soviet-built flight simulator and the chance to pilot your own computerised plane. The emphasis here is on fun and education, although sadly most exhibits are in Lithuanian only. Outside, as well as a rather grotesque memorial to 21 Lithuanian aviators, find a collection of rusting jets and propeller-driven beasts including a rather super albeit rotting MIG21PF. Considering this airfield was where Darius and Girėnas were due to land after their ill-fated epic flight it's a real shame the remains of their plane are kept at the Vytautas the Great Military Museum in the city centre.
