From this tiny little hill in Panemunė Napoleon allegedly watched his massive Grande Armée of 690,000 troops cross the Nemunas into Russia at the start of his ill-fated attack on the Russian Empire in 1812. There's little, if nothing at all to see or do here, although for fans of great military campaigns of history it certainly has some value. To get there, take bus N°25 from Kaunas Castle and get off at the Geležinkelio Pervaža stop (at the bottom of the hill).
