Although it’s getting a bit frayed around the edges now, Aribė is still one of the best value stays in town. Within easy walking distance from the centre, this quintessential three-star experience contains a handful of rooms with cable television, your own bathroom and wireless internet. Breakfast is hardly inspiring, but at this price who’s complaining? If they’re not too busy the staff will go out of their way for you here, and will even cook you something to eat if you turn up late and hungry.

  I've stayed here a few times, and think it's one of the best bargains in town. I used to roll in on the late train from Vilnius at around 11pm and the receptionist would open up the kitchen and cook me some food. That's what I call service.
