Arriving by bus

To get to Nida by bus from Klaipėda, take the Smiltynė ferry from the Old Castle Port and in a few minutes you’re across the water. Buses leave Smiltynė from where the ferry docks, regularly during the summer and a little less frequent out of season. The price at the time of writing for the 60-minute journey was 9Lt. The Old Castle Port ferry only takes foot passengers and cyclists. The crossing currently costs 2.90Lt for the trip across and is free on the way back. There’s also a daily bus to Kaliningrad from the main bus station in Klaipėda, which goes via Nida and takes about an hour. Getting to town You’re in it. Just about everything is within walking distance. If you need a taxi and there isn’t one outside the station, go across the road to the Tourist Information Centre and ask them to call one. If you need cash, find a couple of ATMs directly across the street from the bus station.
