A combined hotel, conference centre and restaurant 7km north of the city in the small village of Ginkūnai, this marvellous creation wouldn’t look out of place in a Brazilian soap opera. Handy for the Hill of Crosses, agoraphobia sufferers and people on the run from the police, before readers rush to book a room it should be made quite clear that there’s absolutely nothing to do in a Lithuanian village after the sun sets. Amusing, charming even, but probably not what you’re looking for if you need to be in the centre of Šiauliai every morning.
