Established in 1958 as the Old City Cemetery was running out of space, this cemetery a couple of kilometres southeast of the centre is the final resting place of Šiauliai’s recently deceased artists, intellectuals and VIPs. Itself now full to bursting, the cemetery is restricted to burials of people related to those already laid to rest here.
