Considerably larger than the city centre itself, this outstanding area of natural beauty immediately east of the action on the other side of Talškos Ežeras (Talška Lake) is a hugely popular place during the summer and is also visited to a lesser degree when it’s covered in snow, not least for the traditional skiing down the slopes of the Salduvės Žuvininkų Piliakalnis (Salduvė Fishermen’s Castle Hill). The park also features a 5km Ecological Path, with 23 stops along the way including information stands, places to sit and bird observation posts. Follow the footpath around the southern tip of the lake or drive there via the Cat Museum (see Meseums).
