Founded in 1997, the four-hectare botanical gardens in the care and preserve of the city’s university are open to the public and well worth a visit. Featuring rock gardens, arboretum, rare Lithuania species and medicinal plants from the region, the gardens are both an education plus a place to get away from it all. Find them just southwest of the city centre, a five-minute walk from the Medžiotojų Užeiga hotel.
