Overlooking Lake Totoriškiai (Totoriškių Ežeras) and a few minutes’ walk from the main sights, Salos looks a bit like a motel for mid-range business travellers complete with Ikea furniture and a lady on reception who doesn’t speak English. Among its few perks find a sauna and swimming pool, but be warned that the restaurant gets booked for private functions meaning you may not be able to eat in it. The swish downstairs nightclub looks fantastic and is the only thing of its kind in town. Just don’t expect movie stars or DJs from London inside it.
